Make the countdown a moment worth remembering. Plan an indoor balloon drop for your wedding, New Year’s Eve celebration, or event, and explore the difference between a drop and an outdoor release.
Plan your balloon drop
A celebration from above
A balloon drop changes the energy in the room at a single planned moment. Balloons wait overhead, becoming part of the setting before they fall into the celebration. It is a natural fit for a countdown, a wedding reception finale, or the moment an event host wants everyone looking in the same direction.
Whimsical Wonder Balloons creates balloon decor for Charleston and Myrtle Beach celebrations. Start with your occasion and venue, then consider the space you want to fill. The goal is a drop that feels right for the room, with a palette that connects to your tables, backdrop, or wider event design.
The pictures below show real balloon drop installations, including the overhead netting and the room beneath it. Use them to picture the scale of the setup and the access your venue may need to provide. Your own installation will depend on the space, layout, and plan agreed for your event.

Medium
Consider a fuller drop for a larger focal area. A venue photo helps us discuss how the installation will relate to the tables, stage, or dance floor.
Large
Explore a bigger statement for a countdown or event finale. Ceiling access, room proportions, and the installation window all help determine what is suitable.

Balloon releases, explained
The word “release” can describe two very different moments. During an indoor balloon drop, balloons are released from overhead netting into the celebration space. An outdoor balloon release sends balloons into the open air. If you have an inspiration photo, send it with your inquiry so we can understand exactly what you are imagining.
This gallery shows indoor balloon drop setups. For an outdoor balloon release inquiry, share the location and occasion before making arrangements. Venue requirements and local rules need a separate review. An inquiry does not confirm an outdoor release or its availability.
If the feeling you want is a shared moment of color and movement, a contained indoor drop may be an option to discuss. If you want a lasting focal point for photographs, consider a custom organic balloon garland, balloon columns, or a balloon wall backdrop. These create a celebration setting without sending balloons into the open air.
Plan with your venue
Send your date, venue address, preferred colors, and the time you want the drop to happen. Include a room photo and approximate dimensions, especially ceiling height and the area beneath the proposed installation. Let us know where guests, tables, lighting, and entertainment will be positioned.
Ask your venue about overhead installations and when the space is available for setup. Access restrictions can shape the design, so it helps to share them early. Include the venue contact if there are questions about the room. For a wedding, mention how the drop fits into your reception timeline; for New Year’s Eve, include the countdown plan.
Complete the setting with Charleston wedding and event decor, Myrtle Beach balloon delivery, or New Year’s Eve celebration decor. Sharing the full idea together helps us discuss colors and focal points as one event plan.
A balloon drop releases balloons from an overhead installation into the celebration space. An outdoor balloon release sends helium-filled balloons into the open air. These are different event plans, so tell us which moment you have in mind when you inquire.
Our options include 250, 500, and 1,000 balloons. The right choice depends on the area you want to cover, the room layout, and the effect you want to create. Send venue photos and approximate dimensions so we can discuss the options.
Yes. A drop can create a celebration moment during a reception or finale. Share your venue, date, room layout, and the time you have in mind so we can discuss whether an overhead installation suits the space.
Yes. Whimsical Wonder Balloons serves Charleston, Myrtle Beach, North Myrtle Beach, and the Grand Strand. Include the venue address in your request so delivery, access, and setup can be discussed for your location.
Ask about permission for an overhead installation, ceiling access, the setup window, and restrictions around lighting and other equipment. Send the venue contact and any installation requirements with your inquiry.
Tell us the location and occasion before making plans. Outdoor releases are different from the indoor drops pictured here. Venue requirements and local rules need to be checked separately; an outdoor release is not confirmed by an inquiry. A contained indoor drop or a fixed balloon display may suit the moment instead.
Request a custom quote with your date, venue address, preferred balloon quantity, colors, and setup details. Room access and installation requirements affect the plan, so a venue photo is a useful starting point.
